Anyone that has gotten an email or note from me lately may have noticed that I have started signing my name as “Lydia!”

Why an exclamation mark after my name?

Why not?

Lydia is a strong name and I feel strong (well, when I am not in pain and/or depressed of course). But actually, thinking of the original Lydia, in the bible and Paul’s first convert to Christ, makes me feel stronger and able to take on my physical and mental challenges.

Tonight I am feeling much stronger and that I have beaten this latest depression. All I had to do was to go back on one of my medications. Now I hate taking pills and I have to take a lot of them; however, if it means I am in less pain or am emotionally stronger, I will take them faithfully for the rest of my life.

So, I will hold my head up high and exclaim from the rooftops, I am Lydia!
