“I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus”
Yesterday a friend posted on her Facebook page a link to a worship festival called “Together 2016” in Washington, DC. I watched the live streaming for awhile and for the first time in the last few weeks was hopeful for the world.
There were close to a million people there in the hot sun and as I watched the singers and the speakers I noticed that the crowd was really into every word. There were times when they were asked to pray in groups and as the cameras panned them you could see power and commitment in their words – you didn’t need to hear. This is the heart of worship.
The theme was asking God for a reset. This was planned way before all the recent world tragedies; however, it couldn’t be more timely. I am not sure which speaker said it but one key quote for me was “Jesus resets lives. You know it’s true – you’re living it!”
One of the worship singers, Lauren Daigle, sang a very heartfelt version of “Heart of Worship”. I couldn’t find a video of it; however, I am including Matt Redman’s original version and Lauren Daigle’s “Trust In You” which is one of my current favourites.
Let’s pray for a reset not only in our lives but in the world as a whole!
Lydia!
