A Superfood With Super Powers

I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers Network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.

When I signed up to do a product review on Equilibrium Energy Superfood by Honey Colony, I wasn’t sure what to expect. While dealing with my barrage of chronic conditions I have tried a lot of different supplements with varying degrees of success. I went into this with curiosity and an open mind.

When the package came, There was a little dark colored and labeled jar, surrounded by packing peanuts in a plain brown packing box that could have held about a dozen jars. Very understated indeed.It turns out that the jar is dark for a reason. The glass is biophotonic, which naturally filters the light allowing sunlight to protect and improve the contents of the superfood.

And exactly what makes up this superfood? The following ingredients  are on the label:

Number 12, of course. is the wild raw honey. Raw honey is a superfood in itself. It can neutralize toxins, relieve pain, treat coughs, and is antibacterial, anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory. With raw honey coming straight from the hive, it keeps all of its natural healing qualities which are lost in the pasteurizing process.

I opened the lid to find a gritty looking tar-like substance. It didn’t look appetizing and I couldn’t really identify a smell. I took a tiny taste and was not all that impressed. The suggested daily use is to have one heaping teaspoonful on an empty stomach each morning. The first morning I mixed it in my smoothie; however, after that, I just took it by the spoonful and had no problems. For me is amazing as I have a gag reflex and trouble swallowing at the best of times (I can choke on a sip of water if not careful).

I think the two areas that I saw the most improvement were overall energy and a decrease in inflammation.

My energy levels have been incredibly low for a long time now – so long, that I really don’t know when I have not felt majorly fatigued all of the time. Thanks to fibro-fog (a side-effect of fibromyalgia and similar conditions) my mind is a total sieve. While using the product, I was feeling much more energetic and clear-headed.

For a couple of months before receiving the Equilibrium Energy I was noticing that my wedding ring was cutting into my finger and I had to get it off with cold water and soap. I hated going without it; however, it was better than having the circulation cut off. After being on the product for a few days, my hands didn’t feel so tight. After a total of five days, I was able to easily slide the ring back on. Now that I am without Equilibrium Energy my fingers tend to swell once again, though I haven’t had to take my ring off.

I am not able to afford Equilibrium Energy full-time at the moment, but as soon as I can, I will be taking advantage of their subscription price where you are charged every three months and the product is mailed out to you.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Honey Colony believes in their product so much that if you find a better mix they will give you a full refund!

I would recommend Honey Colony Equilibrium Energy Superfood to anyone, with or without chronic illness. While the sample I had was only short term, it was enough to know that this product really does what it says – provide “all-day energy, manage your weight, combat viruses, suppress allergies, and promote total body wellness”.
