Back On The Journey To Vibrant

In 2016 I picked the word “vibrant” as my word for the year. I realize, however, that with all the things going on I got away from its true meaning for me. My word for this year was “limitless” and from that, I believe there are no limits on achieving any goal.

So, with that in mind, I am starting the journey back to “vibrant”.  Some of my goals along the way are:

  1. To get back to posting to my blog regularly. I will be writing about some of the obstacles (besides health and moving) that have been keeping me away.
  2. I am starting to get my “style identity” back. And it is fun to see the mixture of past and new personal trends. I want to really explore this as I feel the more comfortable I am with my look, the more my vibrancy will shine.
  3. With the addition of the dog park into our lives, I am getting out more. I am even getting a tan (as much as my sunscreen will allow)! My goal here is to become more physically active outdoors which should increase my energy and hopefully help me to lose some weight. There is also a social aspect here. When you see the same people 2 or 3 times a day, you get to know and care about them.
  4. To get control of my bingeing disorder to a point where I don’t have to hide eating the “wrong foods”. I am already being open about buying ice cream and potato chips and I am hoping that Hubby’s acceptance of this will take away both the cravings and the stress which causes them.
  5. Continuing on that, I am cooking from scratch more, with a goal to clean eating. With all our intolerances and allergies, it just makes sense. And I am a cook after all!
  6. To strengthen my faith. The more we rely on Jesus, the stronger he makes us. I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength (Phil 4:13) but the truth is I can’t do anything on my own strength, physical, emotionally, and/or spiritually.

In the past two evenings, I got in the van and took a couple of short trips just to get out somewhere other than the dog park. The first evening I went to Tim Horton’s (a Canadian favourite for coffee and donuts!) to get an Ice Capp. I shouldn’t because it has caffeine, sugar, dairy, etc. but it just tasted good (until I realized I left the keys in my van but that is another story). The second trip was just to the grocery store to get some items we needed. These are not what I would call exciting adventures, but it is a good start on me getting out on my own. Even if we sell the van, there are many options open to me.

I had a life coach during the first stages of my evolution; however, I think I am ready to fly on my own. The new patterns have been made and I just have to follow them to succeed. Coach, I love you and thank you for everything you helped me do to get to this point. I hope you enjoy watching me soar above it all….oops, I almost forgot to add that I will always have God as my co-pilot!

Lydia!
