Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 3/25/18

I found a new music theme from Helen at “This Thing Called Life, One Word At A Time“. I thought I would give it a go, now that I am feeling stronger emotionally. The theme this week is “Seeing”.

I picked “Give Me Your Eyes” by Brandon Heath because the lyrics are so powerful, and being Sunday I thought a song echoing my faith was appropriate. But you don’t have to be a believer to enjoy these lyrics. They are a cry to see with your heart and not your head.

It is so easy to get into our own heads, dealing with our own trials that we don’t see the world around us. We don’t notice that other people are going through the same or worse.

Take my recent depression, which I am happy to say I feel like I am starting to come out the other side of. It took me being down so low to find out that many of the people I see daily at our dog park are feeling the same way, or have in the past. A dear friend read my blog post on it and called to tell me she has been battling it for years – I never knew.
