Song Lyric Sunday – “Marry You”

This week’s song is doing double duty as I am using it for Song Lyric Sunday and the Three Day Lyric Challenge. I wasn’t sure I was even get it done thanks to some health issues and a significant birthday for a loved one.

Helen, of This Thing Called Life One Day At A Time, set this week’s theme as “Plan”. None of the songs that said plan in the title or lyrics really spoke to me so I went to songs that were about plans. Bruno Mars’ “Marry You” came to mind almost immediately. It is the poster child for spontaneous planning. “…looking for something dumb to do, I think I want to marry you”. Or how about “…this little chapel … we can go; no one will know”.

The funniest part of it is this song went viral as the perfect song for proposals with none better than the YouTube hit below. It is touted to be the first “Live lip-dub proposal”. It is long but hilarious, and the best video version of the song I could find. This video alone is the perfect example of a good plan.

Now, for the three-day lyric challenge. I was nominated by Barbara at Teleporting Weena. to come up with a song lyric per day for three days and nominate three people per day. Now, if I nominate you and you can’t do it, just let me know. I am way behind on this so I totally understand.
