Song Lyric Sunday – “Talking In Your Sleep”

So, this week I am staying inside the box for a change. Helen over at This Thing Called Life One Day At A Time picked “sleep” as the theme for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday. This popped into my head almost immediately (well behind some Lions anyway).

“Talking In Your Sleep” went to No. 3 on the Billboard top 100 in early 1984 and was the most successful hit for The Romantics. Later that year British group Bucks Fizz had a hit version in the UK.

Usually, when someone talks in their sleep they reveal things to us we don’t want to hear. In this case, it seems that the woman in question is denying her feelings while awake and spilling the beans so to speak when she talks in her sleep.

It is a catchy tune and fun lyrics, making for a great song. Then there is the matter of which band member has the biggest hair! LOL
